'Thank You' 는 Dido 의 데뷔곡이기 이전에 Dido를 세상에 알린 곡이라고 할 수 있다.
Dido 는 1999년 싱글앨범과 데뷔앨범 [No Angel] 을 발표하고 투어를 진행하던 즈음인 2000년 초

수퍼스타 Eminem 이 'Stan' 이란 곡으로 이 'Thank You'를 샘플링하여 히트를 기록하면서,

원곡과 가수 Dido 가 세계적으로 주목을 받게된다.

 

2001년 초 빌보드 차트를 화려하게 장식하며  1,200만장의 경이로운 판매기록을 세운다.

하지만 그녀의 성공은 단순한 우연이나 행운이 아니었다.

 

이미 6살에 음악학교인 런던 길드홀 스쿨에 입학, 졸업할 때까지 피아노, 바이올린은 물론

관악기들과 작사, 작곡까지 모두 마스터한다.

그 후로 작곡가이자 프로듀서인 오빠 Rollo 와 함께 Electronic Pop 그룹

"Faithless" 를 이끌면서 500만장이상의 앨범 판매고를 올린 베테랑 음악가였다.

2003년 발표한 [Life For Rent],

2008년 [Safe Trip Home] 까지 그녀의 대성공 행진은 계속 이어지고 있다.

 

그녀는 1971년 12월 25일 출생으로 영국인이다.
